Jezera

Jezera ( Lakes ) got it's name after two small lakes ( Puddle and Mud ) which are visible to the visitors only through the rain season. Jezera is situated on the south-eastern part of the island of Murter and with its 960 inhabitants is part of the Municipality of Tisno. The first mention of Jezera was in 1298. The are some indications that Jezera was inhabited even in the period of ancient Liburns, or later in Roman times, but nothing so far has been scientifically confirmed. Jezera got its walkboard back in the sixties, but the real turistic boom occured in the eighties when the Holiday Village Lovišća and ACI Marina were built. In the period between 2000-2005. Jezera got awarded several times with Blue Flower prize for best place at the Adriatic sea.

What to see in Jezera?

1. Church of Our Lady of Health -Baroque church from the 18th century. There is an interesting bell- tower high 32 ms, which offers a view of the whole place. 2. St. John's from Trogir Church - from the 17th century. It is located in the town center. During summer there is an exibition about Jezera history. 3. St. Nicola's Church from the 15th century in the Murtar bay. In May and December the boat processions are organized. 4. St. Rocco's Church from the 16th century. The day after the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, 16th of August, there’s a procession into this little church in the fields. 5. St. Constantine's Church from 1780. The legend says that in the midst of epidemic of malaria people were advised to have a good sweat, therefore they have decided to take huge stone blocks up to the hill of Kružak. After they all got well, they have decided to build a church out of those blocks and named it after St. Constantine, the patron saint of malaria. 6. Pudarica – the symbol of Jezera. Spiral pyramid used by field guards to supervise the work. 7. The wells – the sources of drinking water which you can find 16, spread around the fields of Jezera.

Big game fishing – Are you ready to catch some big fishes?  We are renting boat that will take you into this maritime adventure. Cycling – Explore the island on two wheels! Discover a new bay every day e enjoy the clear sea and endless silence that surround you. Walking – Take a walk by the sea or along the old oliveyards! Did you know that there is more than 35 km  of jogging paths in Jezera. Sailing – Sail away!
